When the alliance completed the crucible and activated it they were surprised by it's effect.
It released energy across the galaxy that transformed any woman who had battled the Reaper's into Reaper-destroying-goddesses. Now capable of playing with the Reapers like toys, these women easily conquered the threat.
But the crucible had greatly increased their desires along with their size - and now that the Reaper's were almost completely wiped out the goddesses turned to satisfying their desires.
