Captain Lockheed sat trapped in the Rover, surrounded by the mermaid's pulsing stomach walls. He had come to hunt this ancient guardian of the depths. Instead, she had swallowed him whole.
His crew was gone. Through the porthole, he could see their bodies floating in the digestive fluids around him. The emergency lights flickered weakly as the acids rose around the Rover. The hunter had become the hunted, imprisoned alive within the belly of his prey.
All he could do was await the inevitable.
