After Ganon had been vanquished once again, peace had returned to the land of Hyrule along with its Princess Zelda.
However, the brave and heroic Link had vanished after the last blow was struck and had not been seen since. The Princess suspected that the Demon King had laid one last curse before he had been defeated, and that it had survived past his death. Why else could she feel as if Link was still so close to her heart? She would never stop searching for him, no matter what it took.
Sadly, the Princess never did discover the truth of Ganon's final curse. It was a variation of the one used long ago to trap maidens (including Zelda herself) inside unbreakable crystal jewels, leaving them conscious but unable to effect the outside world.
In time, the Princess passed away, leaving behind the royal jewels that would be passed down from mother to daughter within the royal family for generations, all never knowing of Ganon's final revenge...
